May 2023 | Older American’s Month

Retirement Planning Calendar

While everyone’s retirement is unique to their lifestyle, we usually break down a person’s retirement into three sections: your go-go years, slow-go years, and no-go years. We wish all of retirement could just be your go-go years, but unfortunately, even if you maintain good health, that’s not feasible. During Older American’s Month, take some time to review your plan so that you’re achieving your retirement goals and assuring that you’re prepared for things like a long-term care stay that can happen later in retirement.

July 2023 | Celebrate Financial Independence!

Retirement Planning Calendar

The Fourth of July is Dean Barber’s favorite holiday. But his freedoms as an American aren’t the only thing that Dean celebrates on the Fourth of July. Dean also celebrates his financial independence. What’s financial independence, you say? We’re glad you asked. Here’s Dean’s definition.

“To me, financial independence means that you get to get up every morning and do the things you want to do because it’s what you want to do and not because you think you need to have a paycheck. That’s when you know that you’re truly financially independent. If you choose to continue to work, it’s because it’s what you want to do. Bud Kasper, CFP® and I are financially independent, but we do what we do because we love what we do.”

Now you’re probably asking, how much do I need to retire to be financially independent? Well, there are a lot of factors that go into answering that. A comprehensive financial plan is what you need to start getting those answers so that you’ll be on your way to being financially independent.
