Financial Planning Intern

Description Summary:

Modern Wealth Management’s summer intern program provides the opportunity to explore a career in financial planning while gaining experience in the industry.  The role will be responsible for assisting in building complex and comprehensive financial plans for our clients.

The BFG Intern Program is a ten-week program running from June 6^th, 2022, to August 12^th 2022.

Applications will be accepted until 12/1/21.

Primary Duties:

• Collect, organize, and review documents to build the initial plan, entering the pertinent data into planning software.
• Update planning software and identify issues with the plan or investments before client review.
• Produce reports or research for Planning Advisor
• Work with other pillars to coordinate a comprehensive plan.
• Field basic planning questions from the service team or relationship advisor.
• Maintain accurate data in CRM (Salesforce)

Requirements:

• Currently working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in financial planning.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Overall GPA of 3.3 or higher.

Advisor Intern

Description Summary:

Modern Wealth Management’s summer intern program provides the opportunity to explore a career in financial services while gaining experience in the industry.  The role will learn how to manage relationships with clients and prospective clients.  Will work with CFPs and CPAs, learning how to present a financial plan to clients, helping them reach their goals.

The BFG Intern Program is a ten-week program running from June 6^th, 2022, to August 12^th, 2022.

Applications will be accepted until 12/1/21.

Primary Duties:

• Support one advisory team consisting of three financial advisors.
• Develop an understanding of the complex investment and planning decisions necessary to create a comprehensive financial plan.
• Gain exposure to financial planning software.
• Shadow advisors in client and prospect meetings.
• Assist team as needed.

Requirements:

• Currently working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in financial planning.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Overall GPA of 3.3 or higher.

Operations Intern

Description Summary:

Modern Wealth Management’s summer intern program provides the opportunity to explore a career in financial services while gaining experience in the industry. The Operations Intern will work directly with the operations and service team to gain exposure to the financial services industry, operations, and client service.

The BFG Intern Program is a ten-week program running from June 6^th, 2022, to August 12^th 2022.

Applications will be accepted until 12/1/21.

Primary Duties:

• Monitor exception reporting and update data in Salesforce as needed.
• Respond to inquiries and requests from advisors and clients.
• Assist with keeping current filing of documents up to date electronically
• Learn how operations runs in a financial services firm. Including exposure to client service, trading, billing, client review prep, and opening of new accounts.
• Other projects as assigned

Requirements:

• In pursuit of a college degree in a related field
• Ability to work on a team
• Strong desire to gain further understanding of the financial services industry
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Overall GPA of 3.3 or higher
