Will began a new chapter in his career in February 2025 when he was promoted to the position of Managing Director of the Lenexa, Kansas office. He will work alongside fellow Lenexa Managing Director Dean Barber and Director of Operations Jessica Hamm to support our advisors and clients, foster our exceptional culture, and drive the growth of the Lenexa office.

Will has showcased his dedication, adaptability, and exceptional skills by taking on a multitude of roles within the organization. In July 2007, he started with Barber Financial Group (which became Modern Wealth in April 2023) as a part of the calling team. He played an instrumental role early on in his career by scheduling initial meetings for advisors and establishing client review cycles during the challenging times of 2008. He has consistently demonstrated his commitment to our clients and our firm.

In 2009, Will took on the position of new accounts manager, where he excelled at producing, submitting, and tracking account transfers. His collaboration with Bruce Godke during this time laid the foundation for his future success. By 2010, Will transitioned to the role of paraplanner, supporting Bruce and becoming one of the leading advisor-paraplanner teams at Barber Financial Group.

Will’s determination to grow and succeed continued as he became licensed and took on the advisor role. He led the tech committee, explored Fintech advancements, and mastered Salesforce, contributing significantly to the firm’s growth. Will’s leadership and expertise helped his team achieve remarkable milestones, including being the first to hit $250 million in AUM.

In 2021, Will earned the title of partner and took on the role of Director of Financial Planning. Working closely with Angelica Mitchell, he ensured every new client plan was meticulously crafted, analyzed scenarios, and developed planning tactics to elevate clients’ success. That helped set the stage for him to serve in his current role of Managing Director.

Will is married and has three children. Prior to having kids, Will played a lot of golf, and he also became a pilot in his 20s. One of Will’s favorite things to do is cook and smoke meat, especially for meals with friends and family.

Whenever Will gets the chance to support charities, he usually jumps at them. Some of the main charities he supports are Ronald McDonald House, Henson’s Heroes, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Shriners International.
